About Darlene Pedrosa, CFP®
Losing a spouse or a parent changes everything including the financial decisions that suddenly land in your lap.I'm Darlene Pedrosa, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with over 20 years of experience serving clients in the Hudson Valley and nationwide. I built my practice around one specific truth: the moments that feel the most financially overwhelming are usually the moments when the right guidance matters most.
That's why I specialize in working with two groups of people who don't always know where to turn:
Widows who find themselves managing finances they've never handled alone — often for the first time, often while grieving, and often with well-meaning family and friends offering conflicting advice.
Adult children who have just lost a parent and are suddenly responsible for an inheritance, an estate, or both without a roadmap for what to do first, what can wait, and what mistakes to avoid.
In both cases, my job is the same: slow down, get clarity, and create a coordinated plan before any major decisions are made.
Community matters deeply to me — and that shows up in how I work with clients too.

About Pedrosa Wealth Management
What makes my approach differentMost people in transition already have an estate attorney, a CPA, and possibly an insurance agent. The problem is those professionals are each seeing one piece of the picture. I gather what each advisor has done, map the gaps, and create one coordinated financial plan so nothing falls through the cracks and your team is working in harmony.
I also believe in taking the time to truly understand your situation before offering any recommendations. There's no one-size-fits-all plan here. Whether you've inherited $50,000 or $2 million, whether you're 45 or 75, whether you have advisors in place or you're starting from scratch we begin with what's real for you.
What clients can expect working with me
From our very first conversation, I aim to make a complex process feel manageable. We'll start by organizing what you have, identifying any urgent decisions that need attention, and separating those from the ones that can wait. From there, I'll build a comprehensive financial plan that accounts for your income, your goals, your estate documents, and your tax situation — all reviewed together, not in silos.
I work with clients throughout the Hudson Valley as well as nationwide and I'm affiliated with LPL Financial.
If you've recently lost a spouse or a parent and aren't sure where to start financially, I'd love to talk. The first conversation is always free, and it starts with listening.
Securities and Advisory services offered through LPL Financial, a Registered Investment Advisor. Member FINRA & SIPC.
Education
Advanced Planning Certificate from Bryant University. Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and International Business from SUNY New Paltz
Volunteer Experience
I participated in two service projects in El Salvador for an orphanage. We helped several churches and schools as well as the orphanage by running programs with the kids and doing building maintenance. I co-chair the End Hunger Initiative though my local Rotary club to help bring awareness, organize food drives, and raise funds for the food insecure. I also provide free educational workshops at the local library. I volunteer for the local hospital’s breast cancer fundraising month to raise money for their breast cancer center and survivor support programs. I volunteer as a community audit committee member at Ulster County Boces.

We Want Your Voice to be Heard
Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email [email protected] with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
