About Nila L. Tatum, ChFC®, CSRIC®

Nila Tatum’s career in financial services began in 1982, when she entered the industry with a natural curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a desire to help people feel more confident about their financial lives. Over more than 40 years, that desire has grown into the foundation of her professional purpose.

Early in her career, clients were drawn to Nila’s steady presence and her ability to make complex financial topics feel understandable. As she advanced through EF Hutton, Smith Barney, and Merrill Lynch, and later became Vice President of Franz Tatum Wealth Management, she noticed a common theme: clients didn’t just seek answers—they sought reassurance, clarity, and a valued partner who would help them make thoughtful decisions for themselves and their families. They relied on her experience to evaluate their financial choices, help coordinate communication among their advisors, and prepare for the long-term needs of their loved ones.

Central to Nila’s approach is a belief that everyone deserves the confidence that comes from understanding their financial world and having a clear plan for the future. This purpose shapes the way she begins each client relationship—by first understanding what matters most. She takes time to learn about a client’s goals, responsibilities, values, and long-term vision before offering guidance or solutions.

As a woman in the profession, Nila understands the importance of being heard and respected. This perspective influences the way she works with clients across a wide range of backgrounds, including women; Hispanic/Latino and African-American families; LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples; blended and multigenerational households; and first-generation wealth builders. She approaches every relationship with care, curiosity, and respect for cultural identity and personal history.

Many clients share similar hopes: supporting their families, building meaningful lives, and preserving a legacy that reflects their values. Nila supports these goals with empathy and intention.

To provide clarity and structure, Nila uses The Peridot Wealth Process, a proven and proprietary planning framework developed by the firm. Inspired by the qualities associated with the Peridot stone—prosperity, insight, and harmony—the process brings organization and purpose to a client’s financial world. Through thoughtful discovery, collaborative design, and ongoing guidance, Nila helps clients integrate their goals, values, and responsibilities into a coordinated long-term plan.

Her professional knowledge is supported by the Chartered Financial Consultant™ (ChFC™) and Chartered Sustainable, Responsible, and Impact Investment Counselor™ (CSRIC®) designations. She maintains the Series 65 registration through WCG Wealth Advisors—and holds a California insurance license. These credentials reflect her commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning.

Outside of her professional work, Nila is deeply involved in her community. She has supported organizations such as AYSO Palm Springs, the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs, Palm Springs High School Athletics, and the Rancho Mirage Woman’s Club, where she has served in multiple leadership positions. She is also a graduate of Leadership Coachella Valley, Class of 2015.

Family remains at the center of Nila’s life. Married since 1976, she is the mother of three daughters, grandmother to four, and “mom” to her Rottweilers. Her values—responsibility, care, and long-term commitment—guide the way she serves her clients and her community.

About Franz Tatum Wealth Management

At Franz Tatum Wealth Management, we work with individuals and families who have built meaningful success and who value clarity, guidance, and thoughtful long-term planning.

Our ideal clients are people who appreciate collaboration, treat others with kindness, and value the experience and perspective we bring to the table. They want a trusted partner—someone who listens, coordinates, and helps them make confident decisions for themselves and those they love.

We serve clients from many walks of life, and we are honored to work with families whose backgrounds reflect our community—women, Hispanic/Latino families, African-American families, LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples, multigenerational households, blended families, and first-generation wealth builders. Many come to us with a strong sense of responsibility, a commitment to family, and a desire to build or sustain a meaningful legacy.

We understand the unique dynamics these families often navigate: caring for multiple generations, honoring cultural values, navigating career or business growth, and wanting to ensure the next generation is better prepared.

Our approach reflects that understanding:

▪️ We listen deeply and without assumptions

▪️ We respect cultural and family dynamics

▪️ We help educate across generations

▪️ We tailor your financial strategy to your values, priorities, and vision for the future

▪️ We coordinate the moving pieces so you gain clarity, confidence, and direction

Whether you are growing what you’ve built, preparing for the future, supporting loved ones, or shaping a legacy that reflects your values—we provide guidance that is personal, thoughtful, and centered on what matters most to you.

Your goals are yours. Your story is valued. Your legacy matters.

✅ Wealthtender Certified Advisor Review™
May 25, 2026
FTWM has consistently provided clear and concise advice that takes into consideration my financial goals and investment comfort level. They are very pro-active in anticipating and discussing risk management adjustments to my portfolio which are based on market realities, without being hyperbolic. My husband passed recently and they were kind and supportive; yet also very professional in guiding me in what I need to do to mitigate the financial impact re: change in tax status, my need to take RMD in 2026 and managing potential Medicare surcharges. I trust FTWM implicitly.
