About Joe Conklin Shure, CFP®
Hi! I’m Joe Conklin Shure. I’m a values-driven financial planner here to help you navigate your money with clarity and purpose—especially if you’re skeptical of the financial industry or capitalism itself.I work with people who want their finances to support a meaningful life, not just a high net worth. That includes tech workers wondering how much longer they can stay in the game, and purpose-driven professionals—like therapists, academics, or nonprofit leaders—seeking stability, freedom, and alignment.
Before becoming a planner, I co-founded a microloan nonprofit and later helped build financial planning software used by thousands of advisors. I started my own firm so I could do this work in a way that’s more honest, personal, and grounded in what actually matters to you.
My calendar is open for intro calls from Monday, Jan. 12th through Friday, Jan. 16th, 2026.
If you'd like to explore working together, use the "Book Intro Call" button on this page. Talk soon!
I offer holistic financial planning with transparent pricing—no asset minimums, no commissions. Whether you’re navigating a career transition, organizing your finances for the first time, or trying to make big decisions with your partner, I’m here to help.
If you’re looking for a planner who gets the emotional side of money, respects your values, and speaks like a human—not a spreadsheet—I’d love to connect.
Why I Became an Advisor
I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a financial planner. Like a lot of people, I thought financial advisors mostly worked with wealthy retirees and tried to sell them stuff. But over time—through work in education, nonprofit leadership, and financial coaching—I kept seeing the same pattern: thoughtful, mission-driven people were doing incredibly meaningful work, but quietly struggling with their finances. Not because they were irresponsible or didn’t care, but because the financial industry wasn’t built for them.
The advice was either condescending, irrelevant, or full of assumptions that didn’t apply to people who weren’t trying to retire early on crypto gains or hit a $5 million net worth before 40. It was all optimization and no soul. And I thought: there has to be another way.
So I built my own practice. No asset minimums. No AUM fees. No products to sell. Just clear advice grounded in behavior, values, and the reality that financial planning should be for people who are still building, questioning, and figuring it out. I became a financial planner because people like that deserve better. And because I wanted to be the kind of advisor I wished existed for my friends, my past self, and maybe even you.

What to expect in the first meeting
During an intro call, I’m looking to get to know you and understand what’s leading you to explore financial planning. I won’t ask for any numbers, documents, or statements—and I won’t expect a decision about working together. That part can come later. For now, it’s a chance for you to share what’s on your mind, for me to share how I work, for us to determine together if we're a great fit.About Conklin Shure Financial
I help thoughtful people use money to build lives they actually want to live, not just lives that look good on paper. I provide flat-fee, advice-only planning with no product sales, no asset minimums, and no sugarcoating. Just honest conversations, smart systems, and the clarity to make decisions you can feel good about—even in a chaotic world. Some of my clients are high earners in tech, unsure how much longer they can (or want to) stay in the game. Others are purpose-driven professionals—therapists, professors, nonprofit leaders—who never expected to make a ton, but still want clarity, stability, and freedom.
We don’t just review your numbers—we look at how money shows up in your life and what role you want it to play. I offer grounded, specific advice that reflects your goals, your stress, your priorities. If you're skeptical of the financial industry—or unsure if planning is even for you—you’re not alone. Me too. That’s why I started my firm.

Wealthtender exists to help people discover trusted and authentic financial professionals and educators who may be a good fit based on their unique needs and circumstances.
Your honest reviews help people decide which financial professionals and educators may be best suited to their individual needs.
The majority of people trust reviews as much as personal recommendations, so what you write in your review should reflect your own opinion and experience.
Tips for Writing a Helpful Review
Be descriptive. Instead of just saying what you like or dislike, share why. What have you enjoyed most or least about your experience with the provider? Have they helped you overcome a difficult financial challenge or strengthened your knowledge about particular money matters? The more details, the better!
Be honest. Your rating and review should reflect your actual experience.
Stay relevant. Ensure your review is helpful to others by avoiding off-topic discussions or personal opinions not relevant to your direct experience.
Make your review easy to read. Reviews should be readable to others. Use proper grammar, avoid excessive capitalization or punctuation, and be sure to check your spelling.
Be yourself. Don’t post as, or pretend to be, someone else, and do not say you’re associated with a person or organization with which you are not.
Be nice. Don’t write abusive, hateful, threatening, or harassing content. Avoid personal threats, hate speech, obscenities, or inflammatory language.
Respect the privacy of others. Don’t post information that can be used to identify another individual or compromise their privacy.
Report abuse. Thank you for helping us ensure reviews on Wealthtender are helpful to everyone. If you suspect possible violations of our guidelines or believe a review is inappropriate, please email [email protected] with a link to the provider’s profile, indicating the review in question and the reason you believe it violates our guidelines.
